Project Overview

We collaborated with a leading financial institution to develop a robust, enterprise-grade platform through our expertise as a marketplace app development company. The result was a secure, cloud-native multi-vendor marketplace development solution that streamlines the onboarding of external data suppliers, automates trade file ingestion, and enables end-to-end data validation with real-time exception handling. Designed to unify workflows for internal traders, external vendors, and reviewers, the platform features supplier registration, rule-based validation, and seamless integration with Snowflake, Salesforce, and BI tools. Configurable AWS Step Functions and automated alerts further enhance scalability, making it a model for enterprise-grade marketplace solutions.

Key Challenges in Building a Unified Financial Data Marketplace

Key Challenges in Building a Unified Financial Data Marketplace
Lack of Centralized Onboarding System

Lack of Centralized Onboarding System

Vendors were onboarded via disconnected processes, leading to inconsistent access management, unclear ownership, and increased delays in bringing new data sources into the ingestion pipeline.

Inadequate File Ingestion Tracking

Inadequate File Ingestion Tracking

Trade-related file uploads from external vendors lacked traceability, validation checkpoints, and audit trails, making it difficult to monitor ingestion quality or troubleshoot issues post-submission.

Manual Exception Handling Workflows

Manual Exception Handling Workflows

Any data errors or mismatches required manual resolution across teams, creating inefficiencies and increasing turnaround time for file approval and downstream processing in Snowflake and Salesforce.

No Rule Definition Per Data Source

No Rule Definition Per Data Source

The absence of data-specific validation logic meant all sources were treated uniformly, leading to inconsistent ingestion quality, missed errors, and operational risks across vendor pipelines.

Limited Visibility for Reviewers

Limited Visibility for Reviewers

Internal business reviewers had no centralized dashboard to monitor ingestion health, view errors in real-time, or understand file ownership, resulting in slow and reactive issue resolution.

Departmental Communication Gaps

Departmental Communication Gaps

Notifications and alerts were not standardized across teams, causing missed escalations, confusion over responsibilities, and delayed resolutions of ingestion or validation failures.

Absence of an Orchestration Layer

Absence of an Orchestration Layer

There was no orchestration framework to manage ingestion stages, retries, validation checks, or routing to endpoints, resulting in fragmented, error-prone workflows with high manual effort.

Security and Role Management Gaps

Security and Role Management Gaps

Inadequate subnet controls and role permissions raised concerns over data access, system integrity, and compliance, especially when managing sensitive financial trade data across multiple users.

Low Reusability of Ingestion Logic

Low Reusability of Ingestion Logic

Each business unit built its own ingestion workflows from scratch, leading to duplicated efforts, inconsistent logic, and reduced scalability for onboarding new vendors or data formats.

Our Scalable Solution for Automated Data Ingestion

Our Scalable Solution for Automated Data Ingestion

A cloud-native, enterprise-grade platform for multi-vendor data ingestion, validation, and orchestration—designed for financial automation and adaptable as an online real estate auction bidding website software platform.

Role-Based Supplier Onboarding

Role-Based Supplier Onboarding

We developed a structured onboarding flow allowing secure, role-specific access for vendors while enabling business users to define ownership, data formats, and ingestion routes from day one.

Workflow Orchestration with AWS Step Functions

Workflow Orchestration with AWS Step Functions

Using AWS Step Functions, we automated data flow management—handling exceptions, triggering rule validations, and implementing retry logic to reduce ingestion failures and processing lags.

Trade Validation Dashboards

Trade Validation Dashboards

Custom dashboards were built to give reviewers real-time visibility into file status, validation outcomes, exceptions, and final push status across all ingestion pipelines.

Modular Orchestration with EventBridge

Modular Orchestration with EventBridge

AWS EventBridge powers modular routing and alert triggers, enabling integration with internal systems while handling complex ingestion workflows through event-based triggers.

Real-Time Alerts & Notifications

We implemented Slack and Email-based alert systems to notify stakeholders of ingestion success, failures, or threshold violations—ensuring timely actions and reducing operational delays.

Smart Ingestion Pipelines

Smart Ingestion Pipelines

Our system processes structured files (CSV, XLS) with dynamic schema mapping, ensuring consistency and normalization before moving data into the processing and validation pipelines.

Configurable Rules Engine

Configurable Rules Engine

Business users can define and manage validation rules by data type, increasing flexibility and ensuring tailored checks for each vendor and trade-related file format.

Downstream Data Routing

Downstream Data Routing

Once validated, files are routed seamlessly to Snowflake, Salesforce, and internal staging tables—streamlining access for analytics, reporting, and CRM updates.

Granular Role Hierarchy Design

The platform supports fine-grained access for roles including Admin, Analyst, Supplier, and Reviewers—ensuring proper visibility, control, and data security across all user types.

Inventory Tracking Across Environments

React-based inventory components with Redux Thunk logic were integrated to track data tags, processing stages, and unit-level status across different ingestion environments.

Key Features Powering the Financial Data Marketplace

Key Features Powering the Financial Data Marketplace

Supplier Marketplace Module

Easily onboard external vendors with defined access rights, ownership metadata, and tailored ingestion routes—ensuring seamless collaboration and governance from the start of the data lifecycle.

File Ingestion System

Supports secure file uploads or pulls via APIs with checksum validation, schema enforcement, and dynamic rule routing for structured, semi-structured, or customized data files.

Validation Engine

Enables rule-based validations at multiple checkpoints, allowing business-specific logic and conditional data checks before downstream processing or exception escalation.

Dashboard for Reviewers

Offers real-time visibility into file success rates, schema mismatches, ingestion errors, and downstream syncs—enabling faster decision-making and enhanced control for business reviewers.

Orchestration Layer

Built on AWS Step Functions and EventBridge, this layer modularizes ingestion tasks, automates retries, and routes data intelligently based on status, rules, and file context.

Trade Review Portal

Allows business users to review parsed records, identify anomalies, flag incomplete entries, and escalate issues—ensuring data quality before reaching final systems.

User Role Management

Provides granular control across roles such as Admin, Supplier, Business Reviewer, and Analyst—supporting secure workflows with role-specific dashboards and permissions.

Downstream Connectors

Valid trade data is automatically pushed to Snowflake, Salesforce, and BI systems—keeping analytics, CRM, and operational workflows in sync.

Notification System

Multi-channel alerts via Slack, Email, and internal queues notify stakeholders about ingestion events, validation failures, or thresholds—keeping teams aligned and responsive.

Inventory Management Logic

Uses React-based UI components and Redux middleware to tag, track, and reconcile trade data units across ingestion stages and environments—ensuring transparent and efficient inventory handling.
